What am I qualified to do as an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer?  

The ACSM Certified Personal Trainer SM  is a fitness professional who develops and implements an individualized approach to exercise leadership in healthy populations and/or those individuals with medical clearance to exercise.

Using a variety of teaching techniques, the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer SM  is proficient in:

•  Leading and demonstrating safe and effective methods of exercise by applying the fundamental principles of exercise science.

•  Writing appropriate exercise recommendations.

•  Leading and demonstrating safe and effective methods of exercise.

•  Motivating individuals to begin and to continue with their healthy behaviors.

What are the minimum requirements for joining the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer Course run by Litton Lane Training?

To become an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer you must meet all of the following minimum requirements:

•  18 years of age or older

•  Possess a Level 1 fitness instruction qualification

•  Current Adult CPR certification with a practical skills component (such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross). This is available from Litton Lane Training if required and can be done alongside the ACSM course.

Can I add the FETAC Train the Trainer to this Course if I wish?

Yes the FETAC Train the Trainer course is available to ACSM students. This would be a very valuable addition to your skills as a personal trainer and would allow you to teach on a variety of courses. The normal fee for the Train the Trainer Course is € 495 but ACSM students can avail of this for a reduced fee of € 295.
