What is Manual Handling?

Manual handling is defined as "transporting or supporting of a load by one or more employees, and includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load, which, by reason of its characteristics or of unfavourable ergonomic conditions, involves risk, particularly of back injury to employees"

Who will organise manual training for my employees?

Philip Phelan is a chartered physiotherapist with a master’s degree in medical science. He is a qualified manual handling training instructor and presents on a number of manual handling training instructor courses.
